VPOP3 FaxServer Requirements
The minimum requirements for VPOP3 FaxServer are below. Note that you also need to run VPOP3 on the same computer, so the VPOP3 requirements also apply.
- Windows 95 or NT 4.0 or later
- VPOP3 Email Server
- Computer with Pentium (or higher) processor. (Note that it may run on a slower PC, but the performance may not be acceptable)
- 32MB RAM (for a 25 user installation). Note that certain operating systems require more memory. For instance, for Windows XP a minimum of 256MB is normally recommended.
- Compatible FaxModem (supports up to 4 modems). WinModems are not supported. The modem must be accessible as if using a normal COM port and using AT modem commands. USB modems will probably not be compatible - test before purchase. The most likely modems to work are external serial port modems. For PCs without COM ports, generic USB -> COM port adapters are available, and these generally do work OK.
- TCP/IP networking on the local network
Users' PCs will usually have a fax printer driver installed on them. The current version of the printer driver supports 32 bit Windows 2000, XP and 2003. We are planning to add Windows Vista support soon. 64 bit Windows support is not currently available for the printer driver, but we are investigating it.
An older version of the fax printer drivers is available for users of Windows 95, 98, ME and NT4, but this is not as functional as the current version.
